No vomiting today. WooHoo! She's still fighting fluids, but at least I got the needle in right on the first try (no thanks to Cleo, who tried to pull it back out but didn't succeed). In fact, I usually carry her over to the window seat where we give her fluids with her draped over my shoulder, one of her favorite positions. As I sat down on the window seat, she tried to climb over my back! One of her favorite things used to be stretching out full length on the floor so that I could briefly pet her tummy. Sometimes I even helped her by pulling slightly on her front legs. I stretched her out today, something I don't think I've seen her do since she was diagnosed. She spent a lot of time curled up on the floor sleeping today. But it's not the "I want to hide away from the world" type of sleeping, it's the "I'm a cat, and I've had a tough day here sleeping". Almost as though she knows she needs to concentrate on feeling better now. She's still very finicky about what she eats. At the moment, all the tuna flavors of 9 Lives Select rule. I keep trying other brands, other flavors, because I know what she likes this week she'll hate next week. But she wanted none of the Whiskas I tried to feed her today; luckily Puss enjoyed it. However, she did enjoy her Pounce treats after her fluids again. Normally she practically inhales them before they hit the floor, but lately she's been ignoring them. Today they disappeared fast again. Of course, I decided to buy her a bed today. Luckily I got the cheapest one I could find. Of course she wants nothing to do with it. She curls up right next to it, but every time I put her into it, she just runs away. |
